This module introduces student teachers to the micro- and macroeconomic environment in which individuals, businesses and governments operate. Topics include the economic problems, supply and demand, types of market structure, money and the banking system, Gross Domestic Product (national income), unemployment, inflation, money market and fiscal & monetary policy. Student teachers will have a better understanding of economics and its influence on the decision making of individuals, businesses, and governments. It will also provide support for other academic areas which they will study.
