This is one of the professional subjects taught in the second year of the pharmacy programme. It

encompasses a wide range of the body of knowledge that is made applicable in the community

practice setting. The students will thus learn about common medical problems and concerns

affecting people in the society. They will learn how to communicate effectively in interpreting

patients’ complaints, give appropriate counseling and advice, and wherever necessary

recommend suitable over-the-counter products along with information as to their proper use.
